Living Green Barrie’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) and the GreenScreen program are doubling up for the month of January, 2019. Have you been wanting to learn more about Living Green Barrie? Perhaps you are looking to make a difference in your community and learn more about local and global environmental issues. Maybe you have volunteered with a Living Green Barrie event or have grown a garden in one of our community garden plots?
On January 24th at 7:00 pm, Living Green Barrie will be showing two inspirational talks on the big screen at the Uptown Theater on Dunlop St. W. These optimistic talks will provide suggestions on greening your lifestyle, and the enthusiasm to spur you on to make greener choices towards zero-waste living. Following the short movies, we will be holding our AGM right in the theater! Living Green Board members will be highlighting information about our FruitShare and GreenScreen programs.
Everyone is welcome to this event! As always, bring your own bowl to fill up on popcorn and keep this AGM & GreenScreen waste-free. If you have any interest in making environmental change happen right here in Barrie, this will be a great event for you to attend and to learn how Living Green Barrie has been impacting the environment and the community. If you are interested in becoming a board member, we can provide information on this process at the meeting.
January can be a cold month in Barrie, but the wheels of the environment continue to turn, no matter the weather. If you would like to be part of environmental action in Barrie, or just want to learn more about Living Green Barrie, this is the event for you. We hope to see you there!
