PLANT SALVAGE POP UP EVENT!
Woodland plant salvage refers to the practice of transplanting native plants, especially those found in woodland ecosystems, from areas slated for development or other disturbances to other locations, often for conservation or restoration purposes. This can include trees, shrubs, wildflowers, ferns, and other ground flora. The salvaged plants are then used in habitat creation and restoration projects.
This is a unique chance to collect native plants and shrubs for your garden while contributing to local conservation efforts.  The woodland area we are rescuing native plants from has been approved for development.  The property owners and developers are generously allowing us to access the site before construction begins. Your efforts will help preserve these plants and support restoration projects by Living Green Barrie.
WHAT TO EXPECT
  • Respect the Property: Please be mindful of the property and its current tenants.
  • Limited Parking: Carpooling is highly recommended.
  • Plant Rescue for a Cause: In addition to taking plants for yourself, consider rescuing some for Living Green Barrie to use in future projects or their next Native Plant Sale.
  • Orientation- Sign-in and site orientation when you arrive.  This is private property and we have not done a walk-through.
